I noticed on one of my pedals the rubber grommet had changed to a sticky oily mess. I have seen this before but it was on a shure beta 56 there was a o-ring that locked the mic in place, It did the same thing. Like it's changing back to a liquid. So i look at another pedal i have from around the same time and it is doing the same thing. Anybody seen this before?

Hi RONanFEZ

This is very common problem, & not just on Boss Pedals.
There are know in the industry as Rubber Grommets.

I have a small collection of stuff-gear here in the Lab,
where the rubber parts have liquefied.

There are a few threads & posts around the forum on similar topics,
including suggestions for substitute & genuine replacement parts.

I just visited my local rubber or hardware store (automotive stores as well) to find a suitable substitute.
In Australia (Oz) they are called Clark Rubber.
Many hardware & electronic stores carry rubber Grommets as well.

Regards Dr. Bob
