| Whats the actual difference between them, except from the remote-jack? Are there the same stuff in it? |

I've tested them side by side and the only difference I was able to hear was that the OD-2r has a little more gain. I haven't looked inside them to see if they're identical but if they're not, I wasn't able to hear it. |

Hi Guys
I think Laurie was chasing the Schematics for these, to see if there were any differences.
Bossarea, any chance of one day taking some internal Pics of your OD-2r, for the "Pedal Internals" thread?
We have some pics of ssanyee's OD-2 on page 4.
regards Dr. Bob |

| They're similar, but the only MIJ versions are the OD-2. i went with the OD-2 because i prefer the MIJ stuff and i found one cheap locally. |

Just got a OD-2 MIJ 7/88 and put it in a side by side with a OD-2R MIT 11/98 that i had. First thing the OD-2R had way more gain then the OD-2 for both being in the 12 o'clock spot. Second was the OD-2 was warmer in the lo and mid range not as bright in the hi's. the OD-2R was heaver in the lo's was thinner in the mids and brighter on the hi's. Anyone else notice that? |

I can't compare the pedals, but I've bought DasBeef's OD-2r and I have to say that it sounds great. |

My OD-2 is black label MIT... so there might of been a few transisiton ones like most other boss pedals the started life in Japan... |

I've had a look at the schematics, and the OD-2 has a gain stage between the tone and level controls, while the OD-2R does not. Other than that (and of course the "R" circuitry) they look very close.
The gain stage will account for the tone differences. |
