Hi digsy
I have a Phase(r) Tone the original single pot-control pedal, it only has a speed pot, I have had it since new & it still runs. very mellow phaser. it only has about 4 stages from last I remember.
Maybe all of us Tech guys here can help you try to fix it.
Tell us what it does & doesn't do, what seems broken from a visual only inspection are wires off the board That sort of thing. Does it have a DC in jack to run it off a plug pack?
Tell us all you can about what you find & see. You will be surprised how many times just a visual inspection will isolate the fault-s
What country location are you in? Regards Dr. Bob |

| Sorry, I can't help you out about fixing it but I had one last year so am familiar with its sound. With the feedback rolled all the way down it does sound similar to the 70s 4 stage phaser sound, like the Phase90 or Small Stone, though I think both those units sound a little better. It may even sound identical to the PT999 that Dr Bob is referring too, but I've never tried one of those. The Feedback control I found to be more or less useless - it made the phaser so dull (i.e lacking in high end detail) it was like you'd rolled the tone control on the guitar all the way down. |

sorry for the lack of updates guys... i received the pedal and passed it to a friend of mine who's good in electronics... he checked the circuit board and found that everything's working fine... but he realised that there's something wrong with the power source... so he checked the external DC input (which is damn old school btw) and he inserted something like a wire into it and it's working fine now!! i've been trying to post the pics but am unable to do so..
basically i got the pedal for about US$45 (inc. of freight)... actually am hoping to trade with a local dealer for a Boss PH-1r ... do any of u think that the value of the pedal will drop bcuz of the extra wire?? |

| The one I bought was beat to hell. The original DC jack had been poorly replaced by a 2.1mm barrel jack, and some previous owner had hacked a small hole into the pedal on the other side and hardwired an adapter to the circuit. I paid US$22 for it, cleaned it up as best I could, put it back on ebay and it sold in a matter of hours for US$100 Buy It Now. They don't show up very often in Australia which may explain why it sold so quickly, and probably above value considering it's condition, but I can assure you no one iss going to worry about an unoriginal wire that makes the pedal functional again. |
