I think the Big Muff always gets a giggle, particularly from non-musicians. Also StratoSphere's 'Whacky Paki is pretty amusing |

Thanks for the update Dr Bob, I was looking for hidden meaning in the name 'Morley SP Wah' but now I know there wasn't one.
As for the Cranetortoise I just meant the pedals in general, sorry, not the compressor. That site does have a few different overdrive ones in the 'used' section.

Hi guirat I have been looking at that site for many hours now guirat. I am up to page something in the 60's, & still looking.
The prices are very high though. Have you done a conversion, from yen to your currency? You will see what I mean, but they state that they have added 5% as of 2004 to all prices, for Tax reasons. -------- The Big Muff was actually called the Big Muff Pi as in the Greek symbol for (22 divided by 7), like in area of a circle.
I think, it had something to do with a Pi filter in the unit, but it's a long time ago, so I may be a bit incorrect.
If I get some time I will go do a search for you. I a friend recently built one at work, & loves it.
Regards Dr. Bob

Some of the old Roland Pedals had funny names
The Funny Cat The Bee Baa The Bee Gee
I've always been intrigued by the Funny Cat for the name alone, but from the online clips I've heard it actually does sound like a yodeling cat
EMMA pedals from Denmark also have weird names ReezaFRATzitz Transmorgrifier (I think, I forget that one) DiscomBOBulator
DOD had some good ones too: Big Pig Fat distortion Meat Box Octoplus
Thats not even touching all those stupid parameter names they had. My first pedal was a DOD Grunge with the Face and Butt controls |
