It's a weird angle from a show we did a couple of weeks ago, so it's hard to see some of the pedals, but basically it's an HBE Germania --> VintageFX Colordrive --> Reverend Drivetrain II --> Boss CH-1 (an older analog one) --> HBE Mimic (analog delay) --> Boss RV-3 --> Boss RC-2 Loop Station. The RV-3 sends the signal to two amps: a Peavey Classsic 30 and an old solid state Crate G40C-XL (their version of a JC-55).
My most important effect--my foot!

Okay--here's a better top view of my live board, as Dr. Bob requested on another thread...no foot in this one! I use those little smiley-face stickers when I'm teaching English comp. and also to mark my favorite settings on my analog delay...the smiley faces on the other pedals are just there to cheer things up...

I also have a little all-Boss board I use for practice and for writing at home through my old silver face Champ. I'm actually using this small board for a coffeehouse gig I have tomorrow night where I'm playing some new songs I'm working on...the OD-3 sounds awesome through the Champ as a slight boost. Even though the Champ is only 6 watts or so, you have to really crank it to get it to break up, so I like to use the OD-3 for a little more compression...I picked up the OD-3 at a little music shop up the street not long ago. It was new-old-stock and had been sitting there since 2000...I wish I'd discovered it earlier! What a great overdrive...

Ok here's mine:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/pcvangrootheest/1324185438/in/set-72157601867354141/

It's a bit dark and the wrong angle, but you get the idea.

The setup is:

Behringer tuner(sorry!)->Wheeping Demon->MXR phase 90->FXEngineering Mirage Compressor->CE-2->Digitech XP-100->NS-2->MXR Flanger->DD2(replacing it with a DM-2!)->Dunlop volume pedal-> Line6 Echopark-> Empress tremolo->RC-2

in the NS-2 loop I have Ibanez Tube screamer, Vintage RAT and EH Big Muff

Your thoughts and comments please!

timbo, i really like my vox wah, although it is the only wah i have ever really tried out. picked it up for a good price 2nd hand. i run it after my fuzz pedals for a real noisey/shoegaze sound.

Dr. Bob - the blue pedal is a cheap ring mod i got off ebay, it is ok, but nothing really special. when you flick the switch you get a stuttering tremolo effect too.

Cheers! I had the lay-out on the floor for weeks, trying to figure out what the best placement and order was changing it every few days until I was satisfied; only then did I make the board. Of course I have changed it a little bit since I made it .
I was aiming for variety and maximum flexibility. I've gigged a lot with a GT-5, which has a lot and sounds pretty cool, but I found that I was adding more and more pedals to the loop, as I like to combine effects on the fly.

I've bought a OC-2 (MIJ) through the internet, but I don't know how and if I'm going to add it, or what is going to go to make room for it . Preferably I would like to change the Big Muff with something that gives me that same amount of gain and sustain, but with a small(er) footprint. Any suggestions for that, anyone?

Cool pedal board! To replace the Muff, you could try either the Mini-Muff or the Nano-Muff which Electro-Harmonix is making. I haven't tried the Nano, but the Mini sounds the same as the original version yet it is much smaller. The Nano is the size of an MXR. Also worth trying for high-gain sounds is the Toadworks Mr. Ed, which is a high-gain pedal designed to sound a little like a cranked Marshall (Eddie's "brown sound" from the early Van Halen records). It's very warm and has a wonderful sound--and it's also really tiny!

Nice Set up

I like the HM-2, It makes My Fender valve really rock out like a Marshall.

Whats the DOD pedal?
And what is the MXR Blow Torch like.
What's the Hartke Bass Attack do?

Can I ask what the Ibanez Weeping Demon is like?
The local stores don't seem to carry any, to try out.

So many Question...

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi Dr Bob,

sorry for the delay in replying, but been busy all over for a while!

the HM2 - i love it for bass. i can get some really extreme screams from my bass when combined with the demon. On it's own it's being used as a heavy fuzz.

I have two DOD pedals on the board. One is a Meatbox, and the other is an octoplus.
the meatbox is a subharmonic generator, and i use it to add some balls to a di only mix. The octoplus is an octave pedal, and set up correctly, i can get it to track all the way down on a four string!

The Blowtorch is marketted as an overdrive - which it does really well, but can also do fuzz pretty well. I have it set somewhere in between. The red button on the right is the torch control, which adds another gain stage to the equation.

The Hartke VXL box is basically my amp. Whenever i playout i would rather not use an amp, so i DI from the hartke and use IEM or a decent wdge for monitoring. It also has a valve emulation cicuit that can do everything from a light grit strauight through to a full on Cliff Burton type sound. One of the key features on it is the Shape control. Essentially it's a sweep that emphasizes differing frequencies within the sweep, potentially making a bass sound much more punchy, and cheaper basses sound more expensive!

The Weeping demon is probably the most adjustable wah pedal out there.
IMO it is one of the best for bass ihave ever heard. However, I'm not that impressed with it on the guitar front. they retail for 99 over here, and that's a whole lotta wah for the money!

i hope this answers your questions good doctor

Cheers

No board yet, just the pedals.

PSM-5, SD-1 & DD-6 since this week.

PSM-5 MIJ
SD-1 MIJ
DS-1 MIT early transition model (internal 100% MIJ)
TR-2 MIT (C4&R19 mod)
BF-2 MIJ
CE-3 MIJ
DD-6 MIT

I still only need a OC-2 and a GE-7 before I'm gonna build a board.

Hi MarkS

Your Flextone is it a:
Flextone original
Flextone II
Flextone III

My all time Fav. is the Flextone II, the III was voiced very dark, but came to life, when you opened up the Vol. and gave it some real stick
It came to life at stage volumes.

It's very difficult to get a II over here in Australia, people just seem to want to keep them.

I have the POD 2.0 with the Ver2.3 ROMs The first series,
I notice that they have remodeled the POD 2.0, it now seems to have 3 seven segment LEDs instead of just one, in the earlier ones like mine.

I see you have added that special Acoustically transparent rip in
the grill cloth

Nice collection of pedals, they all look like new ones...

Hi Bob.
In fact it's a Celestion loaded Flextone III 112 cab.
I have 2 of them and I use an Epi VJH to drive 'em both.
I once had a PodXT, which I, after countless tweakin' and fiddlin' the knobs,
finally ditched for the Epi head, and started building up this pedal collection.
Never been happier.
I also have a Mesa V-Twin, which I hardly use in this set-up.

The TR-2 is pretty much scratched on top of the footstep.
Don't mind the colorful interlinks, they suck by all means.
For the upcoming pedalboard I'll be using GeorgeL's

here's my humble setup... (no pedalboard, just stompboxes on da floor!)

From Left to Right...
Electro-Harmonix Small Clone (CHORUS) - best sounding chorus EVER!
BOSS GE-7 Equalizer (MIT)
BOSS DS-1 Distortion (1981 MIJ)
MXR Distortion+ (1979)
BOSS TU-2 Tuner (MIT)

By the way... i'm about to trade the vintage DS-1 for a PSP with 2 games and a carry case in 2 days... you guys think that's a wise move or not???
