It's been a good week. I got a DM-3 (with box) a CE-1 and GE-10, not exactly a 'compact' pedal, but it works for me |

Just bought a BD-2 and a BF-3 on Ebay for about $70 each.
The BF-3 is incredible. I was screwing with the Danelectro Flanger (Hashbrown..lol), and I thought it was terrible. This thing gives out incredible sounds, and can give out a decent tremolo if you mess with it.
The BD-2 is a nice pedal which gives me just enough distortion/overdrive for clean leads.
I also bought the BCB-60 board which is very sweet |

DS-1 long dash #9200, set-screw knobs, silver screw, very very good phys condition except for a gash on input side, bottom label perfect BUT ... missing battery clip, pedal spring, and one screw on the bottom. Price tag was $44.96
not bad though for $10.60 after showing the disconnected wires!!!
now to find out if it works |

Certainly better than the $96.23 I just paid for my broken one. But I already have working TA7136AP guts that were given to me sometime back in the '80s, so no worries. Will be nice to finally get that restoration project finished after all these years.
The only remaining thing I could see myself adding to the meager "collection" of sorts at this point would be a DM-2 or DM-3, but there's no way I'm paying the current exhorbitant prices for one. So this might be it for me.

That's exactly what I said when the VB-2 became a $200 pedal. I later paid $300 for one. |

Well, that's just it -- I'm more of a user than a collector, and I've already got the DD-2s that I'm quite happy with, so the needs/wants are a little bit different. I'd take on a broken one for restoration if I could find one for $100-$150, but there's too many flippers out there repairing and reselling them for profit, so I think that the chances for me are quite slim now. I'd have to get really lucky.

Of course, it does not. plugged in ACA 120 and nuthin. no lights, no signal, on or off. I continuity checked the main switch and it does NOT pass power. so'll jump the switch and see.
dang.
but starting out at $10 this should be a fun project.
PS you can totally see the difference in case construction from this 1980 sample compared to the current issue DS-1s. The mojo is dripping off of these early pedals! |
