The Boss Book states, in a section called The Inside Story (page 95), that the PS-5 can "produce an effect that resembles that of the VB-2". Can anyone confirm this/let us know how close the resemblance is?

Just thought it would be good to know seeing that there is such an interest in the VB-2!

They're referring to the tremolo arm and "flutter" effects that simulates a whammy bar being applied - it's cool depending on your tastes but I wouldn't say it does what the VB-2 does. You'd have to apply your foot or hand ( or a robotic implement ) on the foot pad in a repeatable fashion to replicate the auto vibrato that the VB-2 does. It's correct in that it's a variable pitch effect ( vibrato ) rather than an amplitude effect ( tremolo ) but it's not really close to being a VB-2 IMHO.

Yes, I agree. The PS-5 is very bad substitution for a VB-2. I think it's a bit of wishful thinking from Yamada.
