This is a two part question and i'm sure the answer to the first part is on this site somewhere but I haven't found it. a/ how many different Boss compact pedals have been realeased to date?
b/ a full pedal board with compression distortion equalization modulation and delay is 5 pedals plus one of the power pedals for the daisy chain is 6 pedals add a couple for variance and a wah and you have 9 pedals already, anyway the question is how many pedals do you need to cross the line from pedal board to pedal collection and then the line from pedal collection to pedal obsession? |

There are 91 different compacts as we speak. The answer to your other question is harder to find. It depends how you define a collection. My dictionary says it's a group of objects that belongs together and has been brought together. By that definition, any pedal board is also a collection. It crosses into pedal obsession when you start posting on a pedal forum |

wow 91, only 77 left for me to find. Today is saturday so I have to go buy my Lotto 649 ticket, who knows maybe I can just stop at the store and get them in the brand new pickup truck i'll buy if I win.Yep load her up boys with Fenders and Gibsons an Ibanez or two then fill all the little spaces with pedals. Maybe two trips, or I could get a trailer. If I win I,ll post a new thread to let everyone here find out the good news. |

STARTLING UPDATE!!! The members of Bossarea Forum will met with astonishment as they learn that pedals 4 pv did NOT, I repeat did NOT win the lotto. Oh! The inhumanity of it all, I had made plans. Don't be to sad for me though, I only need 77 more pedals! I factored my age and my budget and I have calculated that I will have my complete collection while I am still spry at the age of 206 years.

Don't worry about not winning the lottery. It would make it too easy anyway. Half the fun is tracking down the pedals and it's even more satisfying when you find one at a reasonable price. It still costs a lot of money but spreading it across a few years make it seem less intrusive on the wallet.
It could be worse. You could be collecting vintage Gibson guitars or pre-WWII Mercedezes. Pedals are bargains in comparison |

Consolation Prize! I just traded a Dano fab tone and this Nobels tremolo and 60 bucks for a DS-1,a HM-2 and a BCB-6 with the origonal cables,so I only need 75 more and aged as I may be I'm nowhere near 206. I'll take another shot at the Lotto one day,but for now life is pretty good.

Collecting and obsession, I think all forms of collecting are an obsession. Nothing wrong with that its OK to skip food, clothes, rent, wife etc to get that SP-1. But Im not like that |

Not any more, I traded the most beat up of them for a SS CE-2 and a SS PH-1, both in exellent condition. But I liked to have two SP-1 so I have to hunt again.... |

| I was going to say if you have two of the same pedal it is a clear sign you have crossed line between collection and obsession. |

Well, if my collecting only stopped with Boss pedals I also collect guitars, vinyl records and recently started to collect fuzzes. My wife, a very understanding woman, has said: No more guitars, we dont have the space for them and thats true, so I have to sell if I want to buy.
