Recently, I bought an used Roland EV-5 Expression Pedal from the local music store. I did try with Zoom 505 and it seems ok.. Then I connected the expression pedal into my Boss AW-3 Dynamic Wah and.. it didn't work... :(
And guess what, when i plugged only a half of the EV's connector into AW's, the expression pedal works normally!!
Has anyone experienced such trouble like me?
Thanks! |

Hi lukzzzzz
I don't know he EV-5 that well. But it sounds like you might be plugging a stereo jack into a mono socket. Or visa versa, on the AW-3.
That's my best Technical guess, as to why it works when you only plug it in half way.
I have an old Zoom 2020, and that requires a stereo jack, because it's a stereo socket on the Zoom. The Zoom needs a proper 3 wire potentiometer, not a 2 wire variable resistor. Which is why it works on the Zoom.
I suggest you check the manual for your AW-3 and see EXACTLY what Boss recommends, I'm guessing a mono jack going to a variable resistor.
Hope this help.
