Kurt Cobain's settings are as follows: Level: maxed tone: 11 to 1 o'clock (usually 11) distortion: usually all the way up but occasionally came down to about 1 or 2 o'clock in the studio last knob: the non-turbo setting (I) (II was only used for the man that sold the world solo)
He used the same settings on the DS-1. SOURCE: http://www.kurtsequipment.com/
I've found the DS-2 is good for distortion from none (can use it as a boost), light to heavy.
The MT-2 is starts at heavy and goes to ultra distortion, although if you adjust your guitar volume you can get a lighter distortion, just hope you don't accidentally turn the volume up while strumming or else you'll go from Goo Goo Dolls to DeathMetal. |
