I've always owned a few BOSS pedals, the Turbo Overdrive was on my board - on Turbo of course - a few of the first years of playing and it kicked ass back then. Since then I haven't found any Boss overdriven sounds good enough to not look elsewhere and easily find pedals a lot better. I currently use an old Ibanez TS-808 and a Fulltone OCD and for distortion I have a ReezaFRATzitz somwhere. COSM and what have you doesn't change the fact that Boss is the underdog of overdrive. What's your take on this? What's your main dirt box?
And just to ensure my good intentions I think Boss kicks ass in modulation and delay effects. Kick ass! My DC-2 owns any other modulation effect. You'd be hard pressed to find something a whole lot better than that. |

| I have an OS-2 on overdrive, its a little harsher, but I still like it. I just got a DS-1, never a real distortion fan, but it has its uses (i.e. being modded). |

Boss MT-2. Followed by Boss XT-2.
Going to build an EH Big Muff Pi clone soon though. I hope it sounds close to the original... |

| I have a few that get rotated: Indyguitarist BD-2, OCD, Rat, and a Barber Direct Drive- all excellent pedals. |

I got so many dirt boxes and had even more over the years....
but this is still the hardest category for me.
I had
DS2 DF2 TurboRat TubeKing Soundtank ClassicMetal Fulldrive2
I still have
XT2 BluesBreaker DriveMaster ShredMaster PDS-1 Grunge
the one I liked most out of all those probably was the TubeKing (I sold it when I was too young to know better) the favourite of the ones I currently own is the DriveMaster
the stupid thing with these is they all sound sooo fricking different depending on which amp and speakers you use.
So the TubeKing might sound shite thru my new amp and the DriveMaster better than the TubeKing when used thru my old one...
so right now I'm searching for the perfect dirt pedal to go with my microbaby... |

BD-2 on most of the time for slightly gritty rhythm, OD-3 for higher gain lead, Digitech Bad Monkey for Tubescreamer-style boost (bass cut/boost is very useful).

I use his Treble Booster |

| My DS-1 Keeley (or EcuaKeeley) mod... sounds wonderful, in my amp sounds 100% better than the DS-1 (and the unmodded DS-1 was my previous favorite distortion box). |

OD-3 will never leave my board, and for higher gain I really like my SD-2 red channel I think it's my fave lead tone out of all the boss drives I have tried so far, and I haven't tried them all so who knows whats next |

Mostly my main dirt box is Analog Man BD-2, for really bad noise I use ML-2. Very often also use Bad Monkey, MI Audio Neo Fuzz, Monsterpiece pnp fuzz. What I use depends on the mood.
