Hi Guys

Anyone here have-use-know of the Lava Box.
I have a heads up on one here in Oz.
I belive it's a Mosfet Distortion - dirt box.
I can't seem to locate a Schematic to confirm the distorion topology that the use.

It is Secondhand/pre-loved & almost as new.
No Box or Manual
It's ciurrently selling for about the same price S/Hand
as I could import one + P&P from the US.
Considering Oz prices for these are typicllay $230 - I think.

It seems to get a decent write up onthe few reviews I have been able to read.

What do you guys think?
Thumbs up or thumbs down, too pricey bargain for Oz?

I also found a Bartke B300 Bass Combo, 10 inch speaker 30 Watts,
but it seems to et a crap review, especially the 10" internal speaker
it either distorts too quickly or scaps out early in it';s life.
Not a good revire for Hartke Bass gear.
I guess it's sold more as a Practice Amp.

Any opinionws on the B300 would be welcome as well.

Regards Dr. Bob

Hi Doc

Never played with the Lava box but i can give a few of my obversations on Duncan gear...

as you know i have the twintube classic overdrive pedal and it's a solid piece of kit..if i could make one observation about my experience with Seymour Duncan gear(i also have duncan pickups in my tele) is they tend to be IMHO a bit more darker sounding than other brands...not that thats a bad thing as i find a lot of stuff to have too much treble sometimes...i love my twintube and after some tweaking it's been on my board, must be nearly 3 years now of gigging every weekend without trouble... with the pickups i needed to try a few different re-wires and pot changes to get the best out of but they grew on me in the end....

I agree with Franzoni, Duncan makes good quality stuff.
I use their Basslines pickups in my basses and their
Alnico II pro's in my guitar.

Hi Dr. Bob - I agree with the comments here - whilst I haven't used the Lava Box I did use the Pickup Booster SFX-01 and it did a good job for me for a long while - reliable and a created a good sound when pushing a Peavey Delta Blues.

I've also got the Tweak Fuzz which, whilst it isn't one of my faves at the moment, it is useful and, as Franzoni has mentioned, it can get pretty dark sounding.

So, imho from what I've experienced, Seymour Duncan pedals are good quality, useful and sound pretty good.

Hope that helps a bit.
Cheers
