..Mitch was a great drummer....noel redding lived in ireland for a good few years before he died and was still gigging regularly around west cork and the odd one in Dublin... sad to see mitch gone as well...he couldn't of been that old and IMHO this was the best and most stable line up the hendrix had...things went a bit wacko for him after he fell out with chas, noel and mitch although mitch did reappear in the band of gypsys......R.I.P. Mitch.... |

Mitch was 61, not that old by today's standards. Does anyone know here the cause of his death?
I met Noel once, it was in 1999, he was already fragile. He and his band did an opening for a local music shop here. He played a few Henderix songs with his band. I thihk at that time he mainly played the pub circuit in the UK. His band was fine, but nothing special really, just what you would expect from a local pub band. |

| Mitch Mitchell didn't really have the power of Moon or Baker (or Bonham, later on), but his drumming on those JHE records is just exquisite. this world is a poorer place without him, but as sp-1 says, heaven can now bear witness to the original Experience. please say 'hello' to Jimi in heaven for us, Mitch.... |

I actually got to see Mitch a few weeks ago here in Omaha, NE. It was an early birthday gift from a close friend. He didn't play much, but it was way cool to see him, let alone the horrendous slew of phenomenal guitarists on the tour. Got to BS with Eric Gales for about 15 minutes. A really nice gift & an unforgettable experience for me.
Reverberation - Condolences & best of wishes to the Mitchell family. Mitch will live forever & never be forgotten. We are all richer for his contributions & time spent on this earth.
