A few months ago someone posted a topic about the worlds largest pedal board. Since then I've been thinking...
If I wanted to make an overly large pedal board (say 45 or more pedals) how would I overcome problems like tone loss and power distribution? And would there be any other problems that might come up? |

| That's a good one. I think that you need really good cables and true bypass on every pedal.. |

Except the first one! Youll need a buffer for sure! For Boss pedals you need bypass-loopers for most of them, much money... |

Hi Right Foot Boss
If I remember correctly, StratoSphere was running 44 pedals in 3 different loops.
But it's been a long time since we have seen a post from him. from the records last time he visited was late October.
It's a bit sad, as he is a Double Platinum member.

off topic Defrag, please check your PM. I didn't get any NDR bounced emails this time, so far anyway. I sent 2 emails you, one via my PM account, & one via the forums email.

| it would be no problem to do such a thing, but you would have to use really good cables. You would have to build a bunch of effects loops using a few ls-2's. Now a bigger problem would be noise i would perfer to use battries. i could see way to much ground loop hum from all the daisy chains. you would need i could be down but the money you would need to make it a clean signal.I would rather spend 500 dollars and buy one of them nasty processor boards. |

| Maybe he got caught peddling (pun intended) chains of Boss compacts under his trenchcoat in dark alleys. Flashing Boss at all the soccer moms... |

Strato is in a sheet metal apprenticeship. From the look of his facebook page he's still jamming out lefty style.
I did some reading about 'the worlds largest pedal board' and found out that Creation Audio Labs helped them out a lot. They had a Redeemer Circuit put in their guitar and only needed 2 MK 4.23 booster pedals to push signal through 142 pedals. http://www.creationaudiolabs.com/
As far as my pedal board crafting is concerned I would be using nearly all Boss pedals, no true-bypass loops, and power adapters. It is the power adapter part that I really have the most questions about. For example, daisy chains vs. a dc brick, running multiple daisy chains off of a dc brick, how much current draw would be too much, you know power issues, stuff like that. I currently run almost 25 pedals and have no significant signal loss plus a few tricks up my sleeve to keep the chain length lower than it it actually is. |

A voodoo Pedal Power with daisy chains from each output might give you enough juice. Or two of them..
Radial also makes a good cheap TBP loop-box - the Bigshot EFX. It's like a stripped down version of the Loopbone.
Good cables are a must - I've used the George L's with some success, but searching for a badly grounded solderless plug in a huge pedal chain can be painful.. |

If you don't run any loops, what kind of tricks up your sleeve? |

The tricks are really only for a larger setup. So I'll keep them tucked up my sleeve till the time is right.
If I ran multiple daisy chains off of a DC Brick / Voodoo Pedal Power what is the worst that can happen?
