Hi there,
I 'm sorry I don't know where to post that, feel free to move it, Mr. Moderator.
I'm looking for a power supply with higher current than the PSC, 'cause I now have 12 pedals (all Boss, man !) in a row, I put them in a BCB-60 and 2 BCB-30, and I use the PSC from the BCB-60 to power everything up. With this setting, I get some loss in general level, and some noise too. I know that some of it is due to a current problem. Do you know any 2000mA or higher power supply I could buy ? Cause I really don't want to plug 3 power supplies for my 3 boards, and there is still room for a 13th pedal in the BCB-60.
Thanks for your help, and keep on the good work !

Hi ButterFlo!
There are a number of supplies out there that supply 2 Amps (2,000 milliAmps) - if you do a search on eBay there is usually someone selling one. But. They are usually "switched mode" and some of us really don't like that type of supply.
I tend to build my own "linear" supplies - I have one built as per the thread below that is currently supplying 7 compacts and two double pedals (much higher current draw).

Before you buy a new power supply though, I would suggest making a list of all the pedals you will be powering and find the current draw for each one (it's in the manual). This will tell you how much current you really do need.

Hey Laurie,
I did think about a DIY power supply, but I'm only working on my second pedal right now (I'll have to post the photos, circuit design and demo when I'm done), and I don't feel too comfortable about plugging something I made directly in the 230V we have here, and even less plugging it to my whole collection that took me years to gather..
So I'll see what I can find on eBay. Do you have a model name or a brand name I could look for ?
Thanks for answering.

Actually, the beauty of the supply in my post is that you use a commercial (and therefore "safe") wall wart to drop the 230V down to 12VAC. All you are working with is 12VAC to 9VDC.
No idea what brands are - just do a search on eBay, they pop up all the time. |

Well, actually, I know they don't need more according to the specs, it's just that I'm worried that there might be a voltage drop before the current reaches the limit, see ? I mean it cannot be 999mA everything's fine and 1000mA it blows out in your face (actually it's 1200mA, but you see my point right?). And also, I know that static noise can appear when you draw too much current from a supply. I tried powering up 3 pedals with a crappy 300mA once, and I saw what it did.. Unplugged one of them, and everything just went OK. I've already noticed that I have a volume drop even with all the pedals OFF (thank you FET), I don't want to add static to that. What do you think ?
