I've got a CE-2 but couldn't resist this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7347376458&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1

Just curious if it's the older pre-2002 type ?

Thanks for any help.

I believe they are. All pedals I've seen the last 5 years have had eiher silver or dark gray labels.

My CE-5 has a red label. I got it new in '97. Would it be any different than the ones in production now?
My other 3 Boss pedals are a bit newer and have silver labels.

EDIT: Correction. The label is pink.

Actually the label looks blue in the ebay link above but it could be the lighting. It seems to look like the same kind of print/text as the newer pedals though.

Anyone know if this is a new or old one by looking at it?

Is there a difference in tone between the analogue and digital CE-5's?

I don't know. I just got it in the mail today. The label's grey so its the digital one I think. These are OK and versatile but they just lack something. The CE-5's along with many of the newer Boss pedals just sound anonymous to me.

You will need to open it up to get confirmation. If it contains the MN3007 BBD, then it is analog.
I've only heard about one CE-5 with blue label so far. I will need to see at least one more to believe that the first one hasn't just had the bottom plate replaced. Have you got one?

Received a blue label CE-5, my first CE-5. Read bossarea, and this thread was going. Put it on the pedal board!

I have to say that I think I have enough chorus pedals. Enough for every guitar hero of the 80s to have his pick of them for his favorite! ha ha ha! I just got a CH1, because it was really cheap. I have all of the Boss Chorus pedals except the CE1 and CE5 now and I'm not sure that I'll pick up either any time soon unless it's a really outstanding deal. I've never been that thrilled with the CE1 and the prices are insane these days! The CE5... Do I really need another chorus pedal?

I know I'm going to eat my words one day!

I got all guitar choruses in compact pedal format but none of the 2 bass pedals. Knowing myself they will be on my shelf sooner rather than later

I have the CE2B and the CEB3. I haven't played the CEB3 since I haven't picked up a bass in a little while, but the CE2B is great. The only bass pedal I need from the first run of brown boxes is the Bass Parametric EQ. They're kind of hard to get.

I got my PQ-3B in a straight trade for an OC-2. The OC-2 was MIB and almost brand new but I was happy with the trade anyway. I'm still a bit short on the brown series though. Still need the CE, BF and GE.

I picked up most of the brown bass pedals a few years ago for reasonable prices on eBay, but I haven't seen many of them lately. They were considerably less than the guitar versions too. I'll have to start seeking out the PQ again.
