thanks, Jilty! you've had a productive (if expensive) last couple of weeks....

regarding eq pedals, I use them to provide a preset tone/slight gain boost at the touch of a pedal. if yr guitar or bass has individual volume and tone controls for each pickup, then an eq pedal (I really like my PQ-4, but need to also get a GE-7) might not be needed. however, some guitars have master tone and volume controls, and it's not always easy to quickly/cleanly toggle between the bridge and neck pickup while also adjusting the tone pot in the middle of a song....

Today I stumbled across and bought a "new old stock" never used PW-2 complete with box and manual together with a DC-3 in very good condition and got a package deal. I already have DC-2 and it was interesting to compare the two. DC-2 definately sounds warmer, but DC-3 is more subtle. Each pedal has its own qualities.

Regarding PW-2, the BOSS Book says it was sold between 1996 and 2000...although it was only in production for 9 months. Does this mean that the complete stock of manufactured PW-2 (for those nine months) were sold between the years 1996-2000 in the music stores?

Nice score SUNBURST, like they say PW-2 COULD BE very collectable, and the DC's are quite rare these days. I like the Pw-2 alot, it has such a nice big sound!

Response to Sunburst ?
Pw-2 was only made for 9 months and the reason it was being sold from 1996 to 2000 is because they didn't sell well. Me thinks it's because of all the distortion pedals that were out at that time, like the XT-2, MT-2, DS-1, DS-2, and all the other ones.

Oh by the way, how much did you get your beloved packaged deal for. Just wondering how much these things are going for outside of the net.

Yes, over years to come recent pedals with a short production span such as PW-2 should rise in value along with XT-2 perhaps even though it has been said on the board that PW-2 often has been spotted at music stores lately. As time passes by, all the Boss fanatics and soon to be Boss fanatics have dried out the supply, the prices will start to rise...
I figured I have a head start when buying this one...

Regarding PW-2 and XT-2; PW-2 - I have seen at least 3 NOS i Sweden, just seen one used XT-2 (I´m talking about music stores here).

Yesterday I got a GE-6 (with silver screw) in excelent condition, paid about US $60 for it.
A week ago I got a RPQ-10, Micro rack, parametric EQ and preamp. About US $30.
Both was tried and passed to the "archives".

Congrats on the GE-6. I may have one on the way myself soon. I saw one NOS XT-2 in a music store yesterday. I have also passed my PW-2 and XT-2 to the "archives", since I dont find them very useful for my music.

BOSSguy, that should be the serial number on the sticker on the bottom of your MT-2. so that's a 2005 pedal? in a different thread (ID no. 345), I speculated that the second letter in a 2005 pedal's serial no. would be "R", with the first letter presumably coded for month of production, but "S" is still a good sign... perhaps some years span 2 letters?

The MT-2 i got new this year has the code CR 86654 on the bottom... i got it about 3 months ago, but i won it in a competition, so it might have been old stock.

I just got RRV-10 (Micro rack reverb) for about$40, it´s a very good box for guitar-reverbs in various forms. (Some months ago I sweared not to buy any micro racks, now I have two....).
Also bought myself the Boss BCB-60 pedal-board, not that I needed it but the price was good and it´s very easy to put in pedals and not scratching och having glue to them. A little big.... Nice with 1000mA worth of current.
