I'm the original owner of a mid 80's MIJ CE-2. It works great with batteries, but will only take the old style ACA-120 AC adapter. Monte Allums offers a simple voltage mod that will allow this pedal to operate with modern AC 9v adapters. It consists of jumpering two caps and replaceing another. I think these caps only regulate voltage and don't touch the tone circuit. Would you guys do this to a vintage pedal, or be happy with battery operation?
By the way, I'm a brand new member here. This looks like a great forum for a modder like me!
Sorry about the newbie mistake. I looked in the FAQ section of this forum and saw that this issue has been discussed in great detail before. Forgiveness is a virtue!
we have a similar question with an ACA powered pedal in this thread. the answers are the same for your chorus. there is anther link in there as well, you might want to read. it should solve your problem, with out modding your pedal/s
