| Hi, I am new to this forum, and have done a bit of surfing to learn about some pedals I've bought. Though I have owned a number of pedals, including Boss, over the years, I've never paid huge attention to the details. Some have been sold as needs and tastes and interests waxed and waned. Anyway, I picked up a silver screw phaser PH-1 in very nice condition this week, and noticed it had a momentary LED, so came on here to see that it was a normal thing [I seem to recall my first OD pedal (bought in 1978)had the same characteristic]. The PH-1 has a clear switch under the pedal, with the numbers 8300 printed next to it. According to some posts here, this would make it around 1979 vintage, yes? Anyway, not sure what all this really means [hey, older is always better in music gear. haha]. In any event, I prefer its sound to the MXR Phase 90 which I will now sell. I also have a silver screw CS-1 compressor arriving this week, so looking forward to that. Jumped on a DM-3 that came out of the blue recently too, so I've gone from almost no Boss pedals to a small cache, most of which are older ones. The only new one is a modified TR-2 tremelo (Analogman) which is very nice. I'm still crying about the VB-2 I let go in 1982 !!!! |
