I've seen them for almost half this in just as good condition - about 3 months ago now, on eBay.

Even saw one with a box that didn't reach US$500.

I still think it's way too much.

But, whatever people are prepared to pay, I guess, is the market value. I'll be watching that one for sure.

Here's another almost half the price of the above one. Includes box too - although in ppor condition by the looks. The pedal appear not too bad - nothing like the above one though...

Reserved for a particular bidder!?!? Is that even allowed?

I don't see why he didn't just sell outside ebay and save the listing and final value costs

i have one for $850 Australian about $670US
thats a fair price, I have seen them sell for way more in less condition, but alot less in better as well.
Ebay is not a very good gauge, alot of the second store use it here as well now, of course they go for top price to sell to you and lowest price to buy from you. I prefer to not gauge by ebay, its so easy to get your mates to bid on items and push prices through the roof. It happens, I took an amp into trade in a while back and the guy in the store offered me pittance, but he said go home put it on ebay and open up a few other accounts and push the price up!!! Yeah right, what a scumbag!!!!! And in my opinion so are those who do that sort of sh*t!!!
anyway to close I think that SP-1 is a fair price!

Sorry mate, but I don't see how it's a fair price when I could get one for half that?

And if mates are pushing prices through the roof, then wouldn't the eBay prices be higher still - not cheaper?

I don't understand your logic there.

eBay is a good guage of what things sell for on eBay - that's exactly what the "Completed Listings" search is all about.

People will only pay what they want, and that's the market value.

Just out of interest... check out the prices for the other BOSS pedals on their website http://www.aquaeffector.com/

They are insanely high - compared to the usual prices on eBay.

e.g. BF-2 MIT for $125 US dollars! Huh!!!! OC-2 MIT for US127!?!

Most of them are expensive to say the least with others ridiculously over-priced.

Edited to add:

Sorry, had to add this one...
MIT DS-1 without box for US$87 ?!?!?!?!?

I don't get it?
Some prices are reasonable, but some are 2, 3 and even 4 times what you'd normally pay.

Maybe has something to do with the fact that he's in Japan and some pedals go for a lot more over there compared to the rest of the world perhaps? Who knows. E.g the PN-2 (also on eBay is similar to what they go for but then that DS-1...go figure)

That one for $400 with box and manual was a good deal. I would have paid that much.

year after year the same thing happens, they go back up in price.
The guy who bought both SP-1's is maybe a shop, in the shops they go for way way more money.
