I have a CE-2 which when engaged gives a gairly significant volume boost. Is there a known way to change the amount of volume boost that this pedal gives?

Hi azimuth

Is your CE-2 stock standard,
or has it been modded, and if so, which mod?

Or does it look like someone has replaced-changed any components.

all of my CE-2's are fairly tame, it does however sound like yours might be different.

Normally you will get a slight volume boost,
but most people perceive it as more of a change in brightness.

Regards Dr. Bob

You could adjust the level of the delayed signal by changing a resistor. The dry signal is always on and the delayed signal is turned off or on by the foot switch. The CE-2B has this feature as a level control, just a pot in series with the delayed signal. If you don't have the skills to mod the pedal your self take it to a shop and tell them what you need.
My BE-5 chorus does the same thing but I've learned to live with it

I never noticed a significant volume boost in my mij ce2, noticeable yes but nothing to complain about.
As im28 suggested, you would want to increase R22 a 47k resistor.

I haven't looked inside yet to see if it's stock. The volume boost I hear might just be a perception thing. I haven't checked the actual levels with a recorded audio clip yet.

Thanks for the info!

Yeah I find that interesting as well. My doesn't boost the volume at all.

I get a volume boost on mine as well. it's pretty much standard across the board as far as boss flangers and chorus's are concerned. not very noticeable clean, very noticeable with drive.
