Does anyone know a good noise suppressor? The NS-2 is a bit crap, I don't like the idea of buying a longer patch lead everytime I get some more dirt. Plus it sucks the tone a bit. The Boss Nf-1 is good apparently, I like the look of the MXR smart gate. (the white one).
what does everyone use? |

| I've always used the NS-2 (just like Yngwie Malmsteen) and have never had a problem or a large amount of tone-sucking. What is your setup? Why do you have to use a longer cord to use the NS-2? |

http://boyband625.com/gear.php?id=8 i had problems when i was running my jcm900 preamp through the loop on the ns-2. once i moved the jcm out of the loop (post the suppressor) all my beautiful tone was restored. |

I have a question about the NS-2. I cant figure this one out from the description, nor the online manuals.
Whens using the NS-2, you can place your effects in the effect-loop (send-return). When you switch the NS-2 off, by stomping on it, does the signal then go straight from the input to the output ?? Thus: NS-2 off --> bypass chain NS-2 on --> use effects chain, but cut off noise & hum..
Is this correct, or wil the NS-2, while off, stil use the effects-chain, but just no noise-supressing ??
Thanks ! |

I've always thought if its good enough for Yngwie, its good enough for me...at least with the NS-2... |

| I use the ISP Decimator for my Mesa Boogie. Its a one-trick pony that's pretty good but I do wonder how the MXR unit fairs. |

I never liked them or could get on with them at all, even the ones built into multi effects,i'd rather have a bit of hiss than a noisegate..i think they kill natural feedback but then i grew up listening to Cream,Jeff Beck,Hendrix etc..... sometimes i still finish a gig by leaving the strat howling on top of the Marshall.... ...... |
