I've used the RV-2 and the RV-3. Both are great reverbs, especially coming from a compact pedal (as opposed to an amp's reverb or a standalone spring reverb). I haven't tried or heard the RV-5, but I don't feel the need to do so. Between the -2 and -3, I've got everything I could possibly have a use for with the various options each has.
Regarding the post about "if it were that great, Boss should reissue it," what would the point be of reissuing a pedal that has evolved into a pedal that is still on the market? What I mean by that is, if they have a reverb pedal that is in current production, why would they (or anyone) need to reissue a pedal that is *essentially* the same effect? Sure we have the case of the DD-3 still being produced throughout the evolution of the DD-series, as well as a few others, but I think it would be pointless for them to reissue a reverb, unless it had some radical feature no found in later versions. And, we all know that Boss has never bothered to get it together enough to reissue any of their compact pedals anyway. |
