Just picked up an MT-2 at the local Cash Convertors. The label on the base is completely gone. Is there any way to find out more about this pedal?

I did get the box - if that helps?
Regards,
Laurie

Apart from the missing label and some minor scratches, it's not to bad at all. No butchery inside either!

It is very noisy - hum particularly (much more so than any other pedal I own) so I'll need to check the power filtering in it... or is this normal?

Anyway, hum aside, it sounds GREAT!!

Hi lauries2

Nice, did it come with a manual as well?
Mind if we ask how much?

I was hoping for a picture. That box is extraordinary isn't it?

Ahhh... crap.

Been poking around inside looking for anything obvious causing the hum. And I found it. It's hard to tell on the picture, but it's been dropped. From a great height - onto the knobs. All the pot shafts are bent. The dual pots are so bent the center shaft binds on the outer shaft. I'm guessing there is some damage in the pots - maybe one of the wipers lifted. It really does hum like a son-of-a-b*tch.

Oh well. It cost $55 and it's going back tomorrow.

Laurie.

Hi lauries2

Win Some - Loose Some.

It's good that you spotted it.
Don't mention that you opened it up, they might say you caused the fault.
Just show them the bent & binding shafts, & that it Hum's

If they are like the Oz Smack-Converters, they will offer you in-store credit, I'd be interested to know, what they do, & how they treat you.

If they restock it, maybe get someone else you know, to buy it cheaper, & use it for parts.

Regards Dr. Bob
It's the long weekend Laurie I'll fix something just for you.

Because it was less than 24 hours, it was a full refund with no issues. It was so obvious that the pot stems were binding there was really no discussion. They also said they would tag the next one that came through with my name.

The guys at the store here are awesome!
