Hi everyone. Im looking to upgrade my powersupply. I need something that will power all of this: DM3 < DC2 < Blackstar HTdual < PH1r < TU2
Is it possible? My HTdual is 12volt also.
Im upgrading because I was something compact and im sick of plugging in two power points all the time.
Cheers |

The blackstar pedal is 12V AC or DC and how many mA does it draw? If it is DC there are many options:
Isolated: Voodoo labs: ISO-5, Pedalpower plus 2. Burkey: Flatliner, Flatliner 6. T.rex: fueltank (various in the series) GLAB PB-1
Non-isolated: Diago the gig rig powersupply Dunlop: DC brick.
i forgot which company but they had some cable adapter that ups the voltage let me see if i can find it. EDIT(it was GLAB but it downs the voltage from 2 9V inputs to 1 12V output)
DC brick would only work if you either modded it or added a little circuit to the 18V to get 12V.
I have a Japanese powersupply similar to the DC brick which has 2 12V, 2 18V and 6 9V outlets.

drumroll...

i have 3 PSA's on the go:
Diago - Everything 9v and simple Blackstar 16V AC - Blackstar Ht-distx Digitech - 9V AC 1300ma - Digitech whammy
I love the diago and don't want to upgrade it. If I could run them all through one PSA I would but It's not that much of a problem for me
Good luck |

Hmm thanks noiso, I will find out.
I also need to find out the dimensions of them to find out if they are small enough to put them under the board im modding.
If that won't work, I think im going to just have to use a power strip. Which I don't really want because it will be messy |

| we need to know if your dual is DC or AC... i looked up the handbook but it said it's 16VAC and draws 800mA. but you said in your first post that yours is 12V so maybe you have a different model? refer to your handbook and let us know. if it specifies an AC voltage, then i don't know of one single power supply that will give you both ac and dc, but if it existed, i certainly hope the inventor would name it after an ac/dc song! |

Yo Hateandwar, as of late I've been going with dedicated power supplys. I seem to get much less hum and line noise that way. I do have to admit that it gets a little complicated when I run 8 or more pedals! |

I used to use a brick, but it was too noisey... admittedly it was a Biyang but now I just use the dedicated PSU's. Messy but quiet and I know that they are going to work and not fry my pedals. |

| one more thing i just realized... totally forgot this, the voodoo lab pp2 has an AC outlet on the back. boom. problem solved. you'll still have to use the supplied adaptor from blackstar but it can be permanently mounted that way and you'll still only have to plug one cord into the wall. i'll be mounting mine this weekend hopefully! |

AND one more thing
http://www.burkey.nl/flatliner%20engels.htm
it has one AC input, but it only does 9V or 12V, not the 16 that your pedal requires. still, i found it interesting because i didn't know such a thing existed. it's prohibitively expensive, anyway. |

| yes about 250 euros i believe. but that isn't the problem, this thing is HUGE. 23 cm by 11 cm by 7 cm. i've seen it in a shop and it looked at least double to triple the size of a VLPP+2. and those are already rather large units. |

| just calculated this thing is 3.14 times as big as a VLPP+2 and 9.4 times the size of a Dunlop DC Brick. |

Nice power supply jack Thanks for helping guys, but I've realised I simply can't fit a power supply like this, anywhere on my board. So I've run most the wiring underneath. I will post a picture soon in pedalboards thread once im finished.
Thanks heaps again guys! |
