Gday folks i hope someone here can help me out with my little problemo....
i recently bought a ibanez digital flanger 10 series. after using it for a day fine, the next day i used it it started making strange sounds. when the regen is maxed it squeals and you can here it oscillate when I mute the guitar and even when the effect is bypassed. If you strum very hard on the guitar it also distorts and maked an odd octave tone. Im thinking it could be an earthing problem? I havent touched the trim pots either. I will put a new battery in aswell just to be sure its not that but I dont have a wall adaptor.
Any ideas?

Hi timbo
Before I even finished reading your post, I thought: Flat Battery.... How good was the battery you actually put into it?
I was using an Ibanez DPL Digital Pan Delay (stereo out), last weekend, as great as it sounded, it was a bit heavy, when it came to battery consumption.
Lovely pedal the DPL, I have the CPL Compressor-Limiter in that series.
I really like the design of the Series 10 cases, even though the Phenolic (Bakelite) PCB's are a little on the thin side. Still I have never broken one, just the tracks lift very easily, if you are not experienced in repair of this type of board.
Can I ask how much you paid for the DFL Flanger, & what sort of condition is it in?
Good Luck Regards Dr. Bob

well... it did come out of my mxr phase90... guilty!
so you really think it might be just that? if so, im so releaved!
it is in PERFECT condition!!! it has 2 light scratches on the side and thats it. i was really happy when i got it, just mint! i paid 52 for it, so just over $100AUD. but earning pounds i didnt convert it... i remember seeing one go on ebay back home for over $100, so i guess i was lucky. my first ibanez pedal too. i reallt like the design of it too, very heavy, feels as sturdy as my boss pedals. i will get a battery after work and let you know how i go.

Don't feel so bad, I'm sure we have all done the same at some point. Instead buy yourself a beer or two or three , it's more therapeutic.
Better still buy me one, when you finally make it back to Oz.
