Mhhhh, I've seen removing rubber and I'll never do it, so now a velcro board is arrived and what to do? I'm thinking about removing bottom plate, put velcro from the inside and screw back in place everithing...which are your solutions? |

| I use a thin piece of cardboard to fit over the sticker, and cut to fit in the the little "sticker ditch", then I just use Velcro. Protects the sticker, and these days there are so many adhesive removers, that I wouldn't worry about velcro adhesive residue should you ever need to take off the velcro... |

| The easiest way is to simply turn the bottom panel over and stick the velcro on the backside, which would of course be facing out. That way if/when you ever sell the pedal, you turn it back around and the label is still there. |

Careful with that though... because the close fitting pedal back (right way around) forms what is known as a "Faraday Shield" - isolates the electronics inside the pedal from stray electromagenetic fields. Turning it the other way around (rubber in) would mean I think that the metal base wouldn't seat properly any more, making the pedal more susceptible to hum.

Here's how I do mine. Looks skimpy, but with industrial-strength velcro, so it's plenty strong. On my board, the pieces are about twice this size so I don't have to be so precise when sticking the pedals down. These little strips are also easy to remove without hurting the Boss label.

I usually do the same thing but i put velcro on the sides as well it holds up pretty good |

Thats not a bad way of doing it! I certainly wish I had done mine differently than I did. I could die. |

| Just use double-sided adhesive tape (the strong one) to glue the velcro strips to the pedal. Use two strips on the base plate, placed at each side of the sticker. You will be covering part of the sticker with the velcro and the double sided tape, but since the covered area is so small, the velcro can come out with a bit of effort without damaging the sticker. My velcro and double sided tape are about 2,54cm wide, which is the standard measure. |

If the velcro is still on... it can be removed by the careful application of regular paint thinner. It will melt the glue, but wont take the printing off the label. Two notes of caution though - after the velcro is off wash the base in warm soapy water with a toothbrush and rinse thouroghly to remove the paint thinner from the rubber, and be careful to not get the paint thinner uder the edge of the label or it will lift. I have a couple of pedals where the label has lifted for about 1/16 of an inch because of the paint thinner, but to me that's preferable to having the velcro on there rock hard.

Thanks bud, I might try that but am a-scared.
I know one thing, those labels are really tough. I tried a BD-2 on my board (with velcro because I thought I was going to keep it). After a couple days I opted for the OD-3 instead & the label came off the pedal.
So there I was reefing apart the label from the velcro like peeling a sandwich open afraid the label might tear & I'd really be in shit. Nope, it withstood way more than I thought.
on edit: I ended up buying the BD-2 about a year later anyway |

I use velcro on mine with a bit of superglue but then i'm not a collector so it doesn't really bother me,someone on the forum posted a method where you have the flat half of a link out of a bicycle chain, the one that looks like a number 8 and screw one to each corner of the pedal with the screw the holds the backplate on and the just use a small woodscrew to hold it onto you 'board....no velcro and not isues with the labels on the bottom of the pedal.... providing your using a piece of timber for your pedalboard...mines a homemade jobby out of 18mm ply..... |
