Hi guys ! New guy here.....Ive been playing for 25 years , love Boss pedals , and stumbled across this place ! I cant believe I havent discovered this cool place before ! Anyway , I really want to get an analog delay to compliment my DD-3 , which I have had forever. I really didnt know about the current prices for old pedals these days , so I got rather shocked when I started looking for one of the old DM2/3 pedals. Besides the price , they seem to be really scarce. Anyone have advice for a substitute ? I know Boss didnt make others , what about the re-issue of the Ibanez AD-9 ? If any of you have a Boss pedal for sale let me know.... |

I could offer an Ibanez AD99 which is okay but has 300ms max delay (but that's common for an analog delay)
I'd trade it for another pedal
my wish list:
BOSS CE-2(B) BOSS CS-2
or any Japan made pedal really

Hi Viking and welcome to the forum.
There aren't many manufacturers of analog delays these days and the old ones are becoming more and more expensive. You might want to look for a used Arion, Aria or DOD as those haven't come up so much in price yet. Check out Discofreq's site for a list of alternatives. |

| I'm "addicted" to the Boss RE-20, but you're talking about the same ballpark pricewise unfortunately...although you could look around and find one used for a little less possibly. |

| Have a look on E-bay for a Pearl Analogue Delay. They go for much less than the Boss delays. They're a little more fragile than the Boss models, but they've got a longer delay time, more sophisticated controls, and they sound better. (sorry). |

| The Ibanez CD10 Delay Champ or the Ibanez ADL are identical to the 80's AD-9's soundwise and can be had for much cheaper- but probably not for too much longer... |

Thanks ! I hadnt really thought about the new DD7 , hmmmmmm.... I´ll think about the other suggestions , maybe I could check them out somewhere... I have heard about the Arion , but havent been able to find one. The Analogman delay cant be ordered at the moment. Though Ive only got really old Boss models , SD-1 , BD-2 ,GE-7 ,and the DD-3 , Im not interested in the whole " Vintage " thing. Im just using them because they work !
I would really prefer a Boss pedal , and wish I could order a new one....Maybe I´ll find a DM2/3 , I wouldnt mind paying a realistic price for one.. Ive already found out in here that there are some parts to be found if it gives trouble....

funny story: i had one of those old Pearl delays that i picked up in a shop in Angel in London for something like £30. played with it for a few years and gave it to a friend to mess around with when i got myself a DD-3. didn't have access to internet back in those days so i knew nothing about how rare or expensive they can be and i just gave it away!!
amazing how naive it was, but at least i learnt a lesson! |

Dammit ! |
