I just picked up an MIT SD-1; the serial number dates to October 1992. The label calls for an ACA power supply. Does this pedal have the 470 ohm resistor that prevents it from working correctly with a PSA?

Just want to plan my evening - when I get home from work, am I playing guitar or modding a pedal?

Boss changed the ACA specs from 12vDC (unregulated) to 9vDC (unregulated) in mid 1997, and changed the circuits on all ACA labeled pedals still in production, to make them compatible directly with the PSA (regulated) supply. So a pre-1997 SD-1 will have the current limiting resistor/diode pair, yes. Just remove those two components (R31 and D3, IIRC) and replace with jumpers, and your SD-1 will be up to post-1997 specs.

Keep in mind that if you power the pedal in a daisy-chain type setup, it will still work fine from 9 volts DC without the mods. The only time a pre-1997 ACA pedal actually needs 12 volts DC is when it's the only pedal being powered from that source.
