probably a lot cheaper than the actuator-expression dealie. This is a good idea you can make out of an existing knob, even.
I think it's far from useless - something I could use for delay time on any of my delay pedals!

Hmmm... as a techie and replacer-of-broken-pots, I think this can only mean trouble

I agree with Laurie, and see other issues with this device as well...
All I see when I look at it is a high potential for any bandmate or singer either accidentally bumping or hitting that thing at the wrong time, tripping over that thing, or a mic or instrument cable bumping, hitting, or getting tangled in that thing at the wrong time in a live situation and causing a sonic trainwreck... |

If anyone's that close to my pedals, they're just as likely to break something, IMO. That chance is always there any time people are being irresponsible around musical instruments (which seems to happen a lot).
As I said before, you could make your own - even with a breakaway feature for the wings (so they turn but will come out of the knob if pulled upwards) - or a rubber stopper (hollowed out a bit) for the shaft itself which will fall off if whacked from the side. If I get the wherewithal to make one, I'll post it here. |

The wings may in fact be soft.. dunno.
Rubber wings would seem the best. |

| I've gotten to the point where I can turn the knob I want with my foot without any help of some device. I'll admit that the stacked knobs can be a bit tricky on boss pedals but that device wouldn't help anways. |

I never adjust pedals in between songs, let alone during a song. Maybe there are people who would? I don't know... |

I still reckon it is a knob/pot breakage waiting to happen...
That much leverage on a split-shaft knob would easily pull it off and damage the pot shaft. |
