Erin go bragh! A celebration of the saint born Maewyn Succat. In Canada St. Patrick's day is an official bank holiday in only one of our ten provinces and three territories, Newfoundland, which was settled by people of mainly Irish decent. The rest of us have to work. Happy St. Patrick's day, Franzoni and everybody. |

| I've been saving my bottle of Guinness for a few weeks now. It was hard but after work I get to enjoy the liquid bread! |

as my father used to say 'theres eating and drinking in it'..!!.
my grandmother used to give me guinness mixed with milk when i was small..it used to be popular with older people years ago it was called 'milk stout' as guinness is known here as stout, most people just ask for a 'pint of stout' in the pubs except in cork as they have murphys and beamish stout which are nice beers as well but taste slightly different even though they look exactly the same....the blood transfusion service used to give you a couple of pints after donating blood to help recover as guinness is supposed to be good for replacing iron.... but i haven't donated in a couple of years so i'm not sure if they still do..probably don't as this country has gone PC mad, could also explain why they are always on the TV looking for donors, bring back the guinness.... ........... |

It's off topic for this thread, but related to the giving-of-blood. It turns out I can't give blood in Canada because I lived in the UK for a year... I am apparently now a high risk for BSE transmission
That being said, I intend to try to drown any BSE prions remaining in my system tonight with Kilkenny or Guinness

Hey Franzoni, are you still alive today? I have an image of you looking very second-hand this morning after a long night in Temple Bar (I'm assuming you live in Dublin when I say that, of course ) |
