Well, the time came when the 8 outputs of my BOSS cables are not enough for the pedals I have. I run the BOSS PSA into a TU-2 to distribute the power to my eight pedals. Is there a way to connect the PSA directly to the octopus cable? (without connecting it to a TU-2) ? Is there a way to multiply the outputs of the octopus cable? I know the PSA gives only 250 mA or so, but I just use about half of the PSA power (I just added the individual power consumption of each of my pedals so I'm sure about that). What if I get another PSA and an octopus cable to power my next pedals, is there an adapter I can use to directly connect the adapter to the cable?
Thanks for your help!

Hey midibuddy, you can get cables with a 'female' end so that the 'male' end of your PSA fits inside it. That way you don't have to use another pedal to power it. Boss doesn't make these cables but if you look around on ebay you should be able to find them. Often they are called 5 spot cables or something like that.
Hope that helps! |

If you only have 1 pedal that supplys power (like the TU-2), then you can get a daisy chain that splits off the adaptor (into 5 or 7). You can run that off one of the plugs of the PCS-20A.
The PSA supplys 200mA of current, so if your under that, it should be fine. |

| They can be made by yourself, but be careful with polarity. |

So the TU-2, the LS-2 or the NS-2 are not REALLY needed to power pedals? They are just a very expensive adapter (female to female) so that the PSA can connect to they Boss daisy chain? If I had known that, I wouldn't have bought the TU-2... well, everybody needs a tuner, but I think I'd have bought it later hehe... So if I can make myself a female to female adaptor, I'd be able to use the BOSS power supply and the daisy chain? What do you think of the generic Radio Shack power adapters? Are they good? I read somewhere that the BOSS PSA-120 is the best for powering pedals since it has filtering and some other things that minimize noise in guitar pedals... Is that true? Have you seen any commercially available female daisy chains, in Musicians Friend or American Musical Supply? I'd like to know...
Thanks all for your help!

Hi midibuddy The PSA series of adapters, are fully regulated, with a a high quality 3 pin 78-series IC (Chip) regulator. I can't comment about the other brands like OneSpot But I believe these are regulated as well, I have heard that they are very good. They can supply a lot more current, to run more pedals.
There are some switching power supply type plug packs available as well
Just check that the Adapter that you buy if fully voltage regulated. & 9 Volts DC. And have the right polarity on the plug. (Negative inner)
Hope this helps?
