Have any of you serious collectors who own both of these ever, just out of curiosity, attempted to duplicate the fixed pushbutton settings of the DC-2 with knob adjustments on the DC-3? Is it possible, or are they completely different animals sound-wise?

I have tried but never had any luck, DC-3 has a sound that is a little brighter/clearer (hard to find the words to explain). I think they are two different animals, both very good and subtile Chorus-pedals. I think that DC-3 sounds a little digital (and not in a bad sense this time) if you know what I mean. |

| I agree that the two are quite different. I don't think it's possible, just based on my own experiences with the two pedals. Their sounds are very unique. |

| I agree to the two replies above. The DC-2 and DC-3 has their own sound, and that is what is so great about them. I have also fiddled around with both of mine and have not been able to duplicate one sound on the other pedal. With the DC-3 might be able to set it a little more descreet than with the DC-2 fixed positions. But to sum things up. One if these would not be able to replace the other soundwise. |

I agree as well,
DC2 is warmer and 'full-er' than DC3. DC3 sounds a little digital but in a clear, bright way. I like 'em both. |

Oh, good. Now I get to find one and spend $200.00 for it...
Thanks much for the feedback!

Well, you know, membership of the 'DC-club' comes at a certain price. |

| You could get lucky and find one for much less than $200 though. The only Boss pedals I've had to pay anywhere near that amount for have been the Spectrum, Slow Gear and Vibrato. I've gotten lucky with a lot of good bargains I guess. It is possible. |

Yeah; I'll just keep an eye out for one. Seems as though they have consistently fetching about that much on eBay lately. But you never know; it's all driven by how badly someone wants one when the auction goes up. Or I could get lucky and score a broken one and fix it, like I did with the DD-2 ($50) recently. I'll just bide my time for now...

Those prices are......................well we all know they can go for a lot less, so just hang in there Stahlhart.
I bought a beaten up DC-2 for relatively much, two days later I won a mint one [including box and manual] for 2,- more. During same time of the auctions I also noticed a DC-2 with a buy-it-now price, this one also had a manual and a box and was sold for about 115,- Mine were well below that price, so really, you just need to be lucky and check out prices carefully. It really helps when you know what pedals usually go for as it gives you more of a feel of what is realistic or when things start to hype a little too much.

Bossarea: I'm tremendously sorry for that last post. I'm just really frustrated about that guy's reserve (> $100.00)...
