the thing is by the serial date I could not tell if it is MIJ or MIT. I don't have the pedal with me so I cannot read on the back if it says MIJ or MIT.
That S/N decodes to October 1993, which normally would be way past the move to Taiwan. There seem to be some pedals that continued to be made in Japan after the usual 1986/1987 timeframe, but I don't know if any of them went as far as 1993. Bossarea is good with this kind of info.
I agree with Steve that this sounds like a Made in Taiwan pedal. The first Taiwan made GE-7s had black labels. This indicates that the GE-7 production was moved to Taiwan quite early.
Well... u were right. it is indeed a Taiwan made one. I already had acess to a photo of it. It has a black label made in Taiwan. The thing is this one is a white one just like the early japanese right? All the others ge7 that I've seen are that weird beije/ugly color.
I also own a MIJ DD3 #BD12418 (OUT 1991 #22418) and this one is an excelent unit. It's all f*cked up but still going strong and that delay is sweet!
Others are a NS2 and a OD3. I will post a topic of a little trick with the NS2 to all the guys who need to shut up their amps. (specialy hi-gain tube amps like me)
I thought they were all beige. My Made in Japan GE-7 is beige and the GE-6 is the same colour. Maybe it is whiter than the newer GE-7s but as far as I know it's never been white like a DD-3.
It's a little hard to say without any reference points in the pictures. A white piece of paper or something we know the colour of would better tell us the colour of the pedal. It won't surprise me if the colour has changed a bit over the years. They must have mixed new paint for GE-7s many times since it was first made 1981.
