I actually sent a message (a friendly one I stress) informing him/her that the information was quite inaccurate the first time it was listed and received no reply- before this thread was started even.....
I know people make mistakes, but this is clearly just total deception and such folk should be banned from ebay- Its gonna stop someone getting very misled at the end of the day so as collectors and enthusiasts we should put an end to this- We are the only ones that can prove its bullsh*t anyway and no-one else is gonna put a stop to it clearly......
I've reported the item to ebay as a fraudulent listing with a deliberately misleading description- if everyone does the same then it'll soon be game over for this particular scam
I was willing to give this person the benefit of the doubt as he/she could of got misleading info at the NEC show(The_Doc pointed out about his mate sometimes works part time on these shows) so the people on the boss stand might not of been 100% on an old pedal...BUT..to ignore two emails from people on this forum politely explaining that the info listed regarding the item is misleading and downright wrong and then to re-list it......
I've noticed people in Dublin, posting ad's in the Musicial Instrument sections on gumtree and the buy & sell websites pointing out price rip offs on items posted in the section for people not so familar with buying stuff secondhand..i know people in ireland are getting pretty pissed off with this sort of thing lately..
I've experienced tons of this type of activity on ebay from mostly guys selling cars and car parts. So I'm pretty familiar with how they operate on ebay. They will ignore you and not answer your messege if you come across very knowledgeable about the item. What I do is send messeges coming off as though I don't know squat about the item in question that they are selling. I start out the question by first saying how cool their item is and that I've been looking so long for such an item that they are selling. I then go into asking in a round about way the "flaw" that I detect without them really knowing that I have detected it. They will usually reply to a message/question that has been sent to them by someone they think they can bullshit. In doing so, this usually proves that they are purposely misrepresenting the item that they are selling.
i dont know whats worse. the sellers who have false information or the buyers who think they are paying lots of money for nothing unusual..
the question is though, does the seller know that hes wrong and scamming someone or does he really believe that he has a 1981 MIT white knobbed CE-3.
although its not total BS that Boss releases some pedals a little early. i got my FZ-2 BRAND NEW in Box, and the serial number dates it to 3 months before first production... but its still MIT!
