Hey guys, first post here. I came because I recently got my first pedals from harmony central. Anyhow, I traded a pedal that my friend gave me for free for a silver screw boss bf-2 flanger. i used it for a couple days and it was kinda cool, but i figured i would sell it. anyhow, i got my new godlyke power all (basically a daisy chain) to power all my pedals. as soon as i plugged the flanger in, the other pedals turned off. everything else still works, but the flanger does not. now when i put a battery in, it still does not work, no signal goes through it no matter what (battery, no battery, plugged in, plugged into the battery port). is this toast? i was planning to sell it as i am in the negative for money |

Hi metal0822 and welcome! Sorry your first post is about a problem...
What has probably happened is that the new power supply was connected reverse polarity. What pedals other than Boss was it powering, and did they work (do wthey still work)?

the mxr and behringer pedals i had plugged in still work fine with the new power supply. the phaser was working fine with the power supply and now i cant get it to work i just picked it back up to see if the battery i was using was dead, and then tried another battery, and eventually realized the whole thing would not work. |

| UPDATE: Phaser still does not work with battery or plugged in with adapter, but when my tuner pedal is plugged in, my phaser works on the same daisy chain. is this a grounding problem? since once the other is plugged in they share a ground? im really not into electronics at all, and this is a total guess out of thin air. |

| thanks. i just did some more tests with the phaser and all is good. the flanger however still is not working, and it worked fine with a battery before this whole ordeal. |

| more news: i did not realize that my power supply came with a polarity switcher for the daisy chain...well i plugged that into the phaser and the other pedals were still on...ok, progress. but still when the flanger was put in line, there is still no signal to the amp. maybe the input or output is no longer connected? |

you're best off posting a picture of the circuit board (both trace side and component side).
there's tons of people here who will help, but you have to supply them with the things they need to know how to help.

It is also worth remembering that the folks who would help you are doing so because they want to. No one here is paid and no one here is obliged to provide anything to anyone.
In this situation, a little politeness and patience go a long way.

| so back from the dead. i gave the pedal to a friend who basically held it for 6 months and did nothing. so i have it back now and it still doesnt work. tried it with a battery this morning and just got a really fuzzy signal that was really quiet (didnt matter if i pressed the switch). i tried it again after looking at it, and now no signal goes through at all. so basically, i plugged in a normal pedal adapter before (which i am still using) and the pedal has not worked since. what would you guys look at? i now have access to a multimeter and such. thanks. |

| after doing a bit more research i can see that the zener diode that goes from the dc power jack seems to be the part that goes out in these situations. when i opened the pedal, i noticed that diode no longer has the black marking on it for the cathode side..does this means its fried? rather than that it looks fine..but i did notice that one small detail. all the other diodes clearly have the black marking. |
