just managed to get hold of a new old stock rv-3, for 50, which im more than pleased with.

how do people rate htis pedal, having no experience of it, and buying it coz of the deal, how usable is it, or am i going to be selling it on in a week or two? just interested in opinions?

Hi happyplucker

Highly regarded & sought after.
With a pleasant sounding Reverb emulation.

Hi happyplucker & guys

Do you know if the SD-1 is a MIJ or a MIT?

When & if you get sick of the NOS RV-3, you an send it here for a holiday in Oz.
Or sell it to me...
Hmm maybe we should have lied to you about how good they are......

Regards Dr. Bob

i had an idea that they were 'sought after' but sometimes that doesnt mean they are actually any good. but a great deal so i jumped. cant wait to experiment now, wonder how well it'll go with my dm-2...

the sd-1 is MIT, the guy said he was following direction 'he got from america' so i pressume it was allums. however i dont know what state it is at. however, it looks like there is a germanium transistor in there, and there has been a lot of resoldering. i put in a spare opamp last night, i think a burr brown one, the sound was very raspy and course, and quite gainy. i want to try and make it sound a bit rounded and creamy like the stock sd-1 in many respects. so i may need some guidance. anyway, until i get some pics, later on tonight, i'll go away and do some work.... well....

I love mine, it was one of my better pedal pawnshop finds. The delay/reverb combos are fantastic and the 'verbs are good too. I especially like the hall and plate reverbs. I never use the straight-up normal delay modes on it though. I think you'll want to keep it

just recieved the rv-3, more than happy with it, lovely effect, really useful in our band, expecially turning the original signal down and having fun with pure reverb!11 pink label one for what it matters, though boxed and with instructions it has no sticker.... i wonder if you can pick them up anywhere?

Yeah it is really two in one.
I've heard a rumour that BOSS has stopped the RV-3 production due to big success for relatively low price
cheers

I love the delay/reverb combos available....it's really well put together in terms of features. To me, the ability to blend delay and reverb like you can on the RV-3 makes its delay effect so much more interesting than just a straight up delay (don't get me wrong...I love my DD-6).
