Hi DeFrag
I will be honest though DeFrag, try as I might, I am unable to get it to sound as good as some of the demo's. I wish they would be MORE HONEST, and post up the real settings & what post recording effects & processing they have done to get those sounds.
I have to run a Boss LM-2 limiter after mine, because the sudden MASSIVE change in volume, when you switch to a patch with any overdrive-dirt on it.
I guess, I just don't have that many changes of underwear in my dresser drawers. I Kidd you not, do NOT do this at any real volume levels. I wish I still had my Sound Level Meter, to measure the difference. And that's just using the factory presets.
Like Goran & Strato, I put mine back in its box, & went back to my 70's Jen Crybaby. And it's now the backup pedal.
Regards Dr. Bob

Hi guys. I took the heel switch out of the pedal alltogether, this allows you to remove the rear rubber bumper to increase the travel.I had to remove the rocker with a 5mm allen wrench to get at the two screws for the rubber bumper. Its only two screws holding the switch in so you can change it back if you ever want to. Now she works like a hot damn, just you have to bend over to adjust it just like any other pedal.Want more drive turn up the drive! want less? Turn it down, or off! Lots of foot travel now. I put a piece of black tape on the underneath of the foot pedal part where it hits but its probably not necessary as there is plenty of travel now. Even all that memory bs still works you just use the button. Try this you wont regret it. |

Hi pedals 4 pv Thanks for the info & time you took to mod & experiment, with your PW-10. I'll try ou your mod, next time I get the PW-10 out of storage.
How much extra travel-sweep did you get out of the treadle?
And does the optics-electronics actually give you the extra tone range, or does it just increase the travel. (can you hear the extra range) I am assuming that the optics have a limited range, or am I wrong?
Now if we could just find an easy fix for the MASSIVE difference in levels when switching patches.
Regards Dr. Bob |

not to go too much off topic but that was part of the problem with using the pod xt pro live...it recreates the amp on the patch you using down to the actual wattage..i.e one minute your using a fender deluxe reverb for rythmn and you switch to another patch with a marshall for lead and .....woosh.... your having a michael.j fox...back to the future moment where he runs amok at the debs ball.... i can still see the look on peoples faces when i used to go for a solo with the pod on a marshall setting......are the distortions in the PW10 modelled on any particular non boss pedals..i.e tube screamers or big muffs...? personally i find the older boss compact distortions/overdrives to be pretty quiet compared to other makes......part of the reason i stopped using them is because i felt i wasn't getting enough of a boost out of them and they couldn't handle the output from my spare squier strat with the clapton active mid boost.... |

| You get about 5/16" or 8mm more travel measured at the front of the rocker, there is no flat spot in the range of sound through the pedal travel so I guess the optics are increasing the range. As for the patches I have pedals so I probably will never use them anyhow.I still have 8 models to choose from. And as I said Dr. Bob you will not regret doing this. |
