With a dual frequency-tripler circuit that uses crossover distortion, it generates a "searing" tone that cuts through & sounds pretty wicked.
The distortion presents in the sloped part of the waveform instead of the peaks and valleys like all other distorters and fuzzes.

Someone said they built the circuit but it didn't quite work out for him. Perhaps he erred.
I wonder if anyone here would consider taking the build on? Its an interesting effect to say the least.

With distortion as the ubiquitous effect for decades, along comes a unique implementation & noone has any thoughts?

Ah well.. I guess I'll meander back into my forest.

This crossover type of distortion comes for free in some solid-state amps and sounds in my view very unmusical for ZVex to charge as much.

Designers of power amplifiers try really hard to avoid this kind of effect.
