well.. i got a lm-2b after a couple of spins (See http://www.bossarea.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=88)

compression? limitation? the cs-3 has better compression
u can have more control with the lm-2b, but with not so extreme settings the tone gets distortions, the cs-3 degrades the tone a bit but there are no erratic distortions or so...
sometimes the level raises in a erratic way

made in taiwan silver, but the bottom part of the label with serial has been cutted, who knows what for...

so lm-2b owners i want opinions
after a not so much but more than little testing i rather have a cs-3 or better.. the built in compressor of my laney bc120

My bass technique is really sloppy so I always use the LM-2B when I record something. I like the way it limits my attack and a compressor like the CS-3 just doesn't do that.

I thought before buying it that this pedal should work better or at least like cs-3, but mine at least doesnt. it might be aceptable but im disappointed.

well now i've been able to shape some detailes
with a ac adaptor a have a big humm constantly
with a 9v rechargable i get that distortion
with a common 9v there is no problem

now its somewhat ok, but i had no problems with other pedales like ceb3 bf-2b or cs3, some noise with a/c but not as much as that hum in the lm2b. i know that also depens on the wiring of the room and that things, but this pedal is more affected by that more than the previously named.

It sounds like the LM-2B is more sensitive to a good DC supply than the other pedals you have. Don't understand why a rechargeable battery can give you distortion. I thought they gave just as pure DC voltage as normal batteries.

yes i dont know why, the battery still delivers 8,4 volts, works on virtually any device that requires a 9v battery. but that 0,6 volt difference is notted in the pedals, if the battery its not 90% charged at least, the indicator leds dont work, but just that, then its all normally working

8.4V is quite low and will probably affect most pedals. I've noticed that some pedals sound very different when the battery is dying. It might be the same effect you see when the battery is just a little under the required limit.
