Yes, it's my booster for the distortion channel. But I also use it for crunch sounds for the clean channel.
I have a 2-channel tube amp but with the OD-3 I have three "channels".
Of course this has one disadvantage: I want the sole clean channel and the clean channel & OD-3 to be set to the same volume level. So the boosting of the distortion channel is not done volume wise but only saturation wise.
i see your problem. on my head there's two effects loops each with an efx volume knob so you can have it giving crunch on the clean but louder on the dist.
