i never really thought or tried to find out the exact distance...
Tsurumi, Yokohama (outskirts) ----> Shinagawa, Tokyo {less than 50km--i guess}
it's normally a 30 min. train ride (but if i take the express train--15 mins.) |

Your trains are seriously fast. I live about 50km from London. The fast train takes me there in 40 minutes. The slow train takes over an hour. |

I can only reach the downtown Belgrade by bus from the place where I live (about 25~30km). And it usually takes me a couple of minutes over an hour, if I'm lucky...
That's double !!! |

..my apartment lies on the outskirts of Yokohama (nearing the border of Tokyo).. ..i've checked a map--the distance between my home and workplace is just under 20km.....sorry for the confusion with the distance figures.. ...i really don't know..
..i take the keikyu line train.. ..again, local train stops at every station-30 min.ride, express train stops at 3 major stations-15 min.ride..
{this doesn't include the distance covered looking for vintage Boss pedals} |

^ Still, your rides are 3 to 4 times shorter than mine....
And I didn't include time waiting for those buses... |

Ya gotta hand it to the Japanese, they have a great transit system. Here in St.Paul/Minneapolis the bus system sucks, it takes almost an hour to travel 4 or 5 miles, unless you take an express bus and then it will only take 30 minutes. I really envy you guys with good transit systems you can get around easier than we can. The bus system here makes me want to do this------> |
