Yes, it is worrying when you press the pedal and the light doesn't go on. I should have known, I'd read about the delay before it starts operating, but it slipped my mind when I got this pedal.
I've emailed Roland UK asking for info on ordering the rubber grommets, I think I need 3 now, though I might have to order more than that if they have a minimum order number. Maybe I should have asked about other parts too - a replacement stomp switch for one, and spare washers are always handy. They can be found on any pot you buy from Maplins though, a handy source! |

It's interesting that you said your DD-2 has cream lettering on the control plate instead of silver. Starr36 found out earlier that only the earliest DD-2s have this configuration. It was later changed to silver like all DD-3s have.
The earliest DD-2 I have recorded is my own 381800 (Jan-84) and the earliest recorded silver text DD-2 is starr36's 489300 (Nov-84). What's the serial number of yours? |

Thanks, that narrows down the text colour change to a 3 month period. |

Hi Bossarea I don't remember if I gave you the serial & data on th DD-2 I picked up a few weeks ago.
It also has cream-white lettering, definitely NOT Silver.
Serial 454300 (Aug 1984) Blue label - Black Screw - blue caps on knobs. MIJ
Hope this helps - please let us know if you narrow it down even more.
Regards Dr. Bob

Hi Bossarea have you noticed that Guirat's S/n 453900 and my S/n 454300 both decode to Aug 84?

Thanks, any additional numbers helps.
It's the first 2 digits in the 6 digit serial that determines when the pedal was made so 453900 and 454300 was made the same month. The meaning of the middle 2 digits is still unknown but the text on some schematics indicate that the number increased with production so 453900 was made before 454300. |
