I realise I could probably work this out myself but I figured someone else may have already done it:
How much, roughly, do you think a complete collection of all the compact pedals would be worth based on todays prices?
Obviously it would depend if they were boxed and what condition they were in etc. but I was just after a ball-park figure. |

A wild guess is that the average price is about $60. That will give us a total of around $5000. I think that's an estimate on the lower side. With some mint condition rarities in the collection the total price could be accelerating quickly. |

| I have about 60-70 Boss pedals including all of the rare ones. At the beginning of the year I had to come up with a value for insurance purposes. Based on the typical ebay prices at that time I valued my collection at 6000 USD. Most of my pedals are in excellent condition and include boxes. I would guess about 8000 USD for a complete collection of Boss compact pedals, possibly more since prices seem to have gone up a little since I did my estimate. |

In insurance terms, there would be two values: current market value which would be the "used" price & replacement cost which typically is "new". As far as assets I have & more specifically my BOSS gear, I personally rate their value as barely below the price I can obtain a new unit. I treat gear like a baby & although mint condition wouldn't necessarily warrant top dollar unless is was hard to find or collectible, it is worth more to me since I usually buy new with that 5-year warranty which is always a great attribute you may not enjoy with used equipment. Besides, the time involved in actually acquiring the pedals is an investment as well, testing, playing, choosing.. Of course it doesn't matter to anyone else but a collection obviously holds more intrinsic value to those who own it. This means Your collection is worth less to me than if I owned the same.
Haha.. random rambling thoughts I know. |

I'd also say at least $8000 USD.
If only I had that much spare cash...

Well I leave the guessing for now as most of you are probaly very close, just wondering who of you here are now complete apart from Bossarea.
Me myself am far off from being complete, but I have been guilty of buying more different versions recently, this of course just for the reason of R&D to find out if any of those sound any different. Guess we all know now the anwer to this one eh??!! |

Just had a look and worked out that I'm still 20 short of a complete compact pedal collection (including the latest RC-2). I've been buying a lot of pedals from other manufacturers recently though, so my Boss collecting has slowed a bit! |

Still need a few more here as well compact pedal wise, but I have only been collecting them for under a year so I think I have done well and not so well for spending all that money I do have all the Micro Racks collection with spares etc but I still need to find the converter to put them in a 19" rack unit. I am building roadcases with a 4 rack unit in each, this will let me hold 8 micros in each head case if needed Thats all the units plus 1....maybe a stereo delay set up to fill the spaces :) Anyway I would think about8-10K I worked roughly 200 per pedal as an average price. some are lot cheaper and some are lot dearer so 200 as an average.
