Picked it up yesterday, it needs a bit of oil 'cause it hasn't been played for years, but it still looks nice.

Actually it's for my girlfriend/wife, she used to play the piano as a little kid. If she get bored it's a nice toy for me as well

Nice looking unit! How does it sound?

Sorry, but I have to ask this... does "girlfriend/wife" mean you have one of each?

The hammond sounds nice but I need to figure out some things to get that 'Deep Purple' sound. Maybe an extra amp.

I wished I had one of each. She's only 30 years old, "wife" sounds a bit old and she's mainly my girlfriend.

Does it have a built-in leslie? Or do you use an extra amplifier?

Nice find...... I think Jon Lord used to put his hammond through a Marshall to get his sound in Deep Purple...on the programme 'Classic Albums' when he was being interviewed about Machinehead,it looked like a old marshall combo....

It has built in speakers under the keyboard but i don't think they spin.... probably some sort of leslie sim built into the organ......our drummer has something very similar in his house but made by another company...in fact it nearly looks identical..

Just opened the back and on the tube amp there's a hole which has 'gain adjust' written above it, maybe I can do something with that.

Other funny thing is that it says 234V on the type label as well as on the amp so that seems to be original but......Normally it should say 220V 'cause at the time the organ was built we had 220V in Holland and Germany. The last years the voltage was raised to 230 V, so thats a nice coincidence.

What country used to have 234V late 60's ?

It has no leslie built in, but 2 12" speakers, I believe the L-133 had a built in leslie.

If you wanted the Leslie effect and the organ has a line out or suchlike...i got a Dynacord leslie sim (CLS-22)off Ebay in austria which i use for my leslie effect,i love mine especially in fast mode... i can't vouch for how accurate it is as i've never tried a real leslie cab but i know from reading a lot of reviews on the net that their well regarded by keyboard players as a good answer to carting the real thing around....especially as your in Germany SP-1 i'm sure you would find one or it's descendant the CLS-222 which is also highly thought off, easy and cheaply enough... the DLS verison(digital)is not supposed to be as good......i've started using mine again lately on gigs for my guitar and i've got some non-musos coming up asking where the keyboard was........

I did some reasearch into the whole voltage thing a few years back. I can't recall anyone having 234V though. What was interesting was that most of Europe had 220V as standard while some countries like the UK had 240V. The EU decided to standardize on 230V. They allow for +/- 5% or thereabouts so no country actually changed anything at all. Everyone just changed the labels of all their equipment to read 230V to make the EU happy.

Any chance of some internal pics sp-1?

Does it have an Acutronics spring reverb tank, most had a 16 inch tank?

And is it solid timber, or some very nice laminate?

Thanks everyone for the info.

I'm gonna check that cls-22/222 out.

The wood is thick laminate and looks good.

Here are some pics from the inside:

What I like about tonewheel organs is that they're pure. I ownwed a organ before (got it for free) and it was loaded with PCB's

This one is more like a carburated V8
