I have a problem when I turn on the DR880 when connected via USB to my computer. No logo appears. I cant save SMF from the PC to the DR-880. When I go to "SMF Import" on the DR880 a window opens showing the DR880 drive as F:, I drag a SMF to here and "Enter" on the DR880. Nothing happens. I close the DR880 with the "Exit" and "Enter" keys.I have turn both the DR880 and the PC off and On for each step. I have uninstalled the DR's driver and re-installed it with no results. I have read all the Read me files supplied on the driver disc, and the DR880 manual to no avail.
Just a thought, & assuming you are talking about having it connected to a PC running Win. . My friends have similar problems with various audio & hardware drivers under Windows Vista. Seems that Vista is like a whole new playground - or should I have said Minefield..
have you emailed Roland tech support, or checked their updates downloads pages?
Regards Dr. Bob Ost of my friends that use PC's as thier main DAW's have switched back to XP
I now have little time left with Microsoft as I have purchase a Mac and some pretty awesome software along with it. I did manage to get the driver amid extreme frustration to work after Using the CleanAll AP available from Roland. Then this brought about a whole new set of headbanging problems for my Edirol MD16 and the DAW interface, again I hope the Apple will fix all these time robbing problems. I have still to learn how to drive it! Thanks for your input as many heads can resolve problems.
