Hi Friends,

I m from INDIA seeking yours help Badly.

i found one boss dd3a with a square chip on back of pcb in non working condition ie: it powers on led but no wet signal( effect mixed) output led lights, on pressing switch(latch), goes off on hold mode(however it remains on when pedal kept pressed) thats normal(default) it should work but no wet output. can main square be faulty??
as for volt i have checked its 8.9v & 5.0v on major ic vcc so 78L05 is ok.
on reading posts & reviews of experts & schematic on this forum & further investigate here is my result

I get DRY audio signal on ic 2a(ne570) pins:2,3 & out on pin7. but no audio signal on pin: 10,12,14,15 so is this ic has failed?? also no audio signal on Q3, Q4 &Q6, Q10


*DRY audio signals on: pin 3, 8, & 9 of ic 3c (4066)
* no audio signal on pin 4 of this ic 4066

* AUDIO SIGNAL ON IC: 8b(4072)PIN 5,6,7 (AS PER DIAGRAM)

SO GUYS IS THE SIGNAL GOING FROM 4066 TO 570?? or ic2b-570 to IC3b pin 4??

DR. BOB can u guide me IN DETAILS HOW THE AUDIO SIGNAL IS FLOWING IN BOSS DD3A?? . Is signal going from pin 4 of ic 3b(4066 ) to pin 14,15 of ic 2b(570) via components??
I tried replacing IC 4066, & ALL CAPICITORS, ZENER DIODES but no progress i m looking for NE570N i guess its fauly. but experts reviews most welcome..

THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY HELP GUIDANCE TO MAKE MY DD3 ALIVE..

Hi shivam164 and welcome!

It is unlikely that the 570 is faulty - I've never seen a dead one in dozens of DD-3 pedals I've fixed.

If you have audio on pin 7 of the 4072 and none on pin 3 of the 4066 there is a problem right there - these pins are joined by a trace so what you get on one should be on the other. Check the resistance between these pins.

Typing mistake I corrected it. sorry for that.

there is distorted noisy powerful audio signal on pin 3 of ic 4066.
but not on pin 4, however on removing Q6 there is faint noisy audio on this pin!!! *can the main ic 7 faulty???
