| Yeah, what do you think of the old Dual Overdrive? I just ordered a used one so I'll give you my own opinion in a couple of days. |

I like the SD-1 a lot, but the SD-2, not so much. to my ears, it has a really harsh and tinny high end (that seems to be characteristic of many Taiwan-made distortion and overdrive pedals?), but I digress....
that said, if anyone has favorite settings (or mods?) for their SD-2 that they'd like to share in this forum, please feel free. I *want* to like the SD-2, and would appreciate any discussion that could help change my somewhat jaded opinion of it. (please also feel free to provide the context of your opinion; e.g. a Duncan Hot Rails humbucker-equipped guitar thru a high-gain tube amp, in my case.) |

| Our guitarist is using an SD-2 and its an old one. We were able to pull out thick overdriven sounds from this box. :) We also like the dual functionality of this box from crunch to lead. |

| Ok, so I've recieved the used SD2 I bought a couple of days and I must say that I think it's the best Boss OD-unit I've heard! I use it with a little backup/rehearsal-rig consisting of a Fender Blues junior-amp fronted with a Boss TU2, the SD2 (with a FS-5L to "channelswitch" the crunchmodes) and an old DM2 in quite good condition. All three pedals are mounted in a BCB3-pedalcase and then I keep two cords and the FS5 in my guitargigbag and I'm set to go. Oh, and the combination of SD2 - DM2 - Blues junior is killer! |
