Title says it all. I have a new Dell purchased last Aug & it wouldn't take the update which came out yesterday. I'm not sure its ready for prime-time.

Error #80242014.

At least my system found NTOSKRNL.EXE unlike a few poor saps out there...

Naw, I'm sure it'll get worked out. Dell has a vested interest in SP1 working on their systems. There should be more information about the error# & I'm sure the flood gates are open.

Just FYI.. don't be in a rush to gamma-test Vista SP1 just yet! Let 'em work things out. I got lucky my system was ok after the attempt.

What's the NTOSKRNL.EXE.

We don't run Vista anywhere at work, or on any of the family machines.

Its the (Windows) NT OS (Operating System) Kernel executable... or WINDOWS itself if you will; a critical process in the boot-up cycle of Windows. Even though its named NT, it remains to this day.
