Yesterday (Thursday) on History channel. I saw a guy I used to know!
Cool.. I grew up & graduated high school in Naknek, AK. I even helped my dad pull salmon from the waters. I really miss it up there. There was only 15 miles of road between King Salmon where the Air Force base was & the village in Naknek. We ate salmon, moose, & caribou ALL THE TIME! Stealing beer from the local bar, we kids stayed in trouble as there wasn't much else to do.. hanging out playing Space Invaders at the Red Dog Saloon.
Too bad I sold my land up there; it was my foothold back. Alaska is a young man's country though. Memories.. *snif*
sounds like you had lots of fun...... i remember the space invaders machines...kids would lok at us like we were a space invader if we tried to explain about how big these things were and don't forget pacman...!!!..............

It is not a well known fact that I used to be a "pinball machine tech" when I was in my late teens. I was the guy that lugged all those big machines around and came to empty the Space Invaders coin box. That was our biggest "technical' call out for Space invaders - the coin box was full and you couldn't play anymore. Nearly caused a riot a couple of times.
In case you were wondering, the coin boxes held about 1000 twenty cent coins (that was the price of a game in 1979) and we had to empty them every 2 days...
